Here you will find out how payment works at Beilken Sails and which payment methods we offer. This information supplements our general terms and conditions (section 6); the payment terms stated in your quote and in the order confirmation are decisive for your order.
1. How it works: inquiry, quote, payment
Non-binding inquiry. Using the sail configurator and our quote forms you put together a sail and send us an inquiry. The price shown is a non-binding guide. The inquiry involves no costs and no payment obligation for you.
Binding quote. We check your details and send you a quote by e-mail with the total price, shipping costs, delivery time and payment terms. The quote is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
Acceptance and payment. You accept the quote via the link in the e-mail on your personal order page (button „Order with obligation to pay”) or by e-mail. Only then is the contract concluded. You will then receive our order confirmation with all payment details.
2. Down payment and final payment for custom-made items
We make custom sails and covers exclusively for you; we purchase cloth and fittings specifically for your order. Therefore, unless otherwise agreed in the quote, the following applies to custom-made items:
- 50 % down payment of the order total when the contract is concluded. We start production once the down payment has been received; the delivery time starts from that moment.
- Final payment when we notify you that your sail is finished. The remaining amount is due before shipping or on collection at the loft.
For stock items, accessories and repairs, the payment terms follow from the quote or the order page; for smaller orders we usually waive the down payment.
3. Payment methods
Bank transfer (payment in advance)
You transfer the amount to our bank account. You will find our bank details and the payment reference (order number) in the order confirmation, on the order page after acceptance and on the invoice. Please always state the order number as the payment reference so that we can allocate the payment immediately. The payment is free of charge for you; please send transfers from abroad as SEPA transfers in euros with the fee option „SHA/shared”.
Payment on collection
If you collect your sail from the loft, you can transfer the remaining amount in advance or arrange payment on collection with us. Please talk to us about this when arranging the appointment.
We do not currently offer other payment methods (e.g. credit card or PayPal). Should we introduce additional payment methods, you will find them on the order page and on this page.
4. Invoice, VAT and due date
All prices are in euros including statutory VAT; shipping costs are shown separately. On request, business customers receive a net quote with VAT shown separately. You will receive a proper invoice by e-mail for every payment.
Unless otherwise agreed, invoice amounts are due within 14 days of the invoice date without deduction. If you default on a payment, the statutory provisions apply (sections 286, 288 BGB); we may postpone execution of the order until payment has been received.
5. Retention of title and refunds
The delivered goods remain our property until payment has been made in full. If you are entitled to a refund (e.g. after withdrawal in the case of stock items or after a rescission), we will refund the amount without delay, at the latest within 14 days, to the same account from which the payment was made.
